Centre for Animal Disease Research and Diagnosis (CADRAD) was established at Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar on 10th March, 1986 with a view to provide health care and diagnosis of animal diseases in the country. Since then this Centre has been efficiently carrying-out laboratory examination of materials referred from all over the country. This Centre has multidisciplinary approach in diagnosis of animal diseases with specialists of Virology, Bacteriology, Parasitological, Pathology and Toxicology. This Centre has the mandate for disease diagnosis and development/standardization of diagnostic methods/ kits/ reagents. CADRAD was recognized as Central Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (CDDL) by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Agriculture (Govt. of India) since 2001-02 with specific mandate, technical programme and financial support.
