About Division
The Division of Livestock Products Technology(LPT) was established in 1975 with the mandate of conducting research, post-graduate teaching and human resource development. Besides, well developed laboratories, the Division has experimental abattoir, pilot plant for meat processing, by-products section, carcass utilization plant and dairy technology unit to support the regular activities.
The Division plays an unique role in development of meat industry in the country.The annual turnover of Indian meat trade was estimated at Rs. 15,0000 millions in 1990. At a time when enormous global opportunities have emerged for export of meat and meat products, the Division of LPT acts as a nodal agency in catalysing the growth in this sector.

- Microbiology and quality control
- Pilot plant
- Poultry and poultry products technology
- Milk and milk products technology.
