Division of Animal Genetics
Objective / Mandate
- To conduct basic and applied research in the field of Animal Genetics and Breeding.
- To develop breeding strategies for genetic improvement of Cattle, Buffalo, Sheep, Goat and Pig.
- To produce and supply laboratory animals viz. Mice, Rats, Guinea-Pigs and Rabbits for research and production of Biologicals.
- To impart post-graduate education and training programmes in Animal Genetics and Breeding.
