Joint Directorate of Extension Education

Joint Directorate of Extension Education, IVRI came into existence in 1986 to cater to the needs of livestock owners, farmers and other stakeholders by offering multifarious extension services (farm literature, animal health camps, distance education, meeting with farmers, etc.) to them. Division of Extension Education, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Communication Centre and Agricultural Technology Information centre (ATIC) too work under the direction and supervision of the Joint Directorate of Extension Education in formulation and implementation of field extension education programmes. Since its inception, Joint Directorate of Extension Education is involved in the transfer of technologies developed by the Institute, in the field of livestock health, production and management through various extension activities with the help of scientists and experts of different divisions & sections of IVRI. It also keeps an active liaison with line departments of different state governments like animal husbandry, agriculture, rural development, fisheries, dairying departments, State Agricultural & Veterinary Universities and Agricultural Technology Management Agency besides, NGOs, Corporate Sector, private companies working for livestock and agriculture sector and Self Help Groups etc. to have a collaborative extension programme for transfer of technologies for development of livestock sector in the country.

  3. Communication Centre

    The Communication Centre was established on March 23, 1986, with a main objective to coordinate with the faculty of the Institute by providing effective services and necessary support in their research, teaching/training endeavor through the following units:
